Mazda has announced an upgrade to its Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program, providing additional warranty coverage along with the number of vehicles that are eligible for the plan.

Starting immediately, Mazda CPO buyers will receive a 12-month, 12,000-mile additional limited warranty that begins when the standard factory warranty ends. If buyers are purchasing a vehicle where the factory warranty has already ended, the new warranty becomes effective at the certified retail date. Regardless, the Japanese automaker stated that there is no deductible on covered components.

Additionally, Mazda is adding one year and 20,000 miles to CPO eligibility requirements, expanding the number of vehicles available in the CPO program. Vehicles from model years 2008-2013 that have less than 80,000 miles can be purchased under the new CPO plan.

Mazda will continue to offer its three-year buyback plan with its CPO vehicles, providing the buyer with up to 110 percent of the NADAguides published retail value if the vehicle should have a problem with the title. The plan also covers up to $500 in aftermarket accessories.

According to Mazda, CPO sales have increased 40.2 percent over last year.

“Mazda has seen substantial success with its CPO program and we are continually looking for ways to enhance it in order to exceed the expectations of our customers and dealers,” said Ron Stettner, vice president of sales for Mazda North American Operations.
